This online course focuses on the laws and rules that regulate mortgage loan originators, bankers, brokers, and servicers doing business in Oregon. The topics included in the course are presented according to those outlined by the state as subjects that must be included in order to satisfy the continuing education requirements for mortgage loan originators. In Module 1, students will spend one hour reviewing the Oregon Mortgage Lender and Loan Servicer Practices Act and the Oregon SAFE Act, as well as their associated regulations, including required and prohibited conduct for licensees. In Module 2, students will spend one hour reviewing mortgages and trust deeds, the Oregon Mortgage Rescue Fraud Prevention Act, the Oregon Consumer Identity Theft Protection Act, the Unlawful Trade Practices Act, and the Oregon Real Estate Law as it relates to licensure.
This online course satisfies the two-hour Oregon-specific continuing education requirement for loan originators, as specified by Oregon law. In addition to two hours of Oregon-specific education, annual SAFE Act continuing education requirements include three hours of federal law, two hours of ethics, two hours of nontraditional mortgage lending, and one hour of elective education.
The content for this online course is the same as course ID 6649 and is intended to satisfy continuing education (CE) requirements for 2017 or the last year a mortgage loan originator held an active license. Mortgage loan originators who take this Late CE online course are prohibited from taking course ID 6649 in 2018.
